Dunedin The Sociable Club

Julie AddisJulie Addis, Director, Dunedin LSC

HI there!  I’m Julie Addis, Director of the new Dunedin The Sociable Club and first to develop another South Island agency of the Club established by Deborah Coburn in Queenstown earlier this year.  I’m a local and I love Dunedin!  It’s a great place to live and has lots to offer.  So I’m excited about this amazing opportunity to help others enjoy the city as much as I do.

People are my business, and my passion.  A successful hairdresser, I have owned “Why Not Hair” and “Why Not Body” for 15 years. I have always valued my relationship with clients, many of whom have become friends. Over the years I have had many conversations with single clients and friends over how to meet new friends in Dunedin and finding social events away from noisy bars and  nightclubs.  It’s a friendly city but it isn’t enough - we need to create opportunities, safe and relaxed, for bringing likeminded people together.

Dunedin born and bred, I’ve lived in Dunedin most of my life aside from during my OE.  Single Mum to 18yr old Tom, and an independent businesswoman, I’m no stranger to the challenges of maintaining a good social life and finding new friends. Whether new to town, newly single, or just looking for fresh fun, I believe this Club is the answer.

My purpose is to make the Dunedin The Sociable Club our city’s best way to bring our “30, 40 & 50 Something’ people together.  So take a big breath, sign on and let’s get together to build this great new Club for  our great city!
